Alasdair Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 So can anyone give me a little beta on what climbing either one of these peaks this time of year might be like. I will be down there for the next couple of weeks and these seem like reasonable objectives given the limited time frame I will have. Are the routes so strait forward that they could be done in poor weather conditions? (I dont mind a little snow) Quote
John Frieh Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Straight forward. Snow will only cause navagation issues at best (more on the approach than on the route as both standard routes are ridges). If you want photocopies of the guidebook or need a partner give me a shout Quote
cluck Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 October is a great time of year for these 2 routes. Bad weather might spice things up a bit, but even then it shouldn't be too tough. However, I think 3FJ would be significantly more difficult if the Cliffhanger trail or the Crawl were covered with snow - but that would require a pretty big dump. Also, a cold wet spell might form ice on the summit of 3FJ. Quote
