knotzen Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Has anyone come across info. that indicates whether carbonated water, like Talking Rain, hydrates your body the same as tap water? I know it has other problems, such as leaching calcium, but I'm particularly wondering if I am getting any hydration benefits by drinking Talking Rain all day at work, or if the body cannot use carbonated water as it does uncarbonated water. spicoli11 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Yes it hydrates.... but not as well because the carbonation typically makes you feel fuller sooner making you drink less water. So I would say you are not getting any benefits from the carbonation. Quote
catbirdseat Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Most of the carbonic acid off-gasses in your stomach as CO2 and you belch it up. So, I'd say as long as there isn't a ton of sugar, and talking rain qualifies, it should hydrate you just fine. Quote
Dru Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 just let it go flat first if it worries you. Quote
