rcaaia Posted July 1, 2002 Posted July 1, 2002 Any beta on Glacier Peak, Kennedy Glacier route? We're planning on camping above the Ptarmigan glacier, ascending the Ptarmigan and upper Kennedy, skipping Frostbite and Rabbit Ears. Any time honored advice would also be apprecieated. Quote
dkemp Posted July 1, 2002 Posted July 1, 2002 Was stopped a few years ago by a big ol' crack that went clear all the way across the ice. Last year I hiked up Frostbite Ridge and looked down on KG all day and boy it looked good. I'm going in a couple weeks - perhaps I'll see you there. -Dox Quote
Keith Posted July 8, 2002 Posted July 8, 2002 Did the Frostbite route this weekend. Lots of snow and a bunch of slots opening up. We had sunny warm days so the snow was getting soft. Just below the top there was about 50 feet of ice--a screw or two would have been nice as it was too hard to drive a picket. Quote
