Muir and a jogging stroller

How close to Muir from Paradise can I get pushing a joggging stroller (in %'s please)?

You see, I was thinking at only 10k it would be a fun little hike for me and my toddler, am I totally insane you ask, probably, go read a book, you suggest, not that interested say I, so how about it?

Any real advice? would be appreciated

Lots to steep/high/tall steps in places on the way up to Pebble...so guess it depends on the weight of your child. You might want to check with NPS...to see if they allow wheels on the trail. You wouldn't want to end up getting a ticket. I don't think they allow "wheels" in general on the non-paved trails...and if they allow yours, I'm taking my MTB up tomorrow!

 

Most folks end up carrying their kids, so I suppose that would be the NPS response...carry your kid.

I think you might be able to get just below Panorama Point, which may be somewhere in the vicinity of 7,500' or so, on paved trails.

 

I'm sure there's enough Rainier junkies around here to give you a definitive idea answer.

guess I'll pack him in and bring a leash

but I'll check with NPS 1st, maybe lock the stroller at Panorama and... well you get the picture

Sounds like it snowed there yesterday, so that's something to consider this time of year.

There are a lot of stairs, and it's otherwise a fairly rough trail, by wheel standards. I'd expect it'd be more work dragging a jogging stroller up there than just sticking the little one in a baby backpack.
