MountainMan Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Has anyone been into Redoubt/Spickard area this year? I'm primarily interested in the condition of Depot Creek trail and any known access issues. TIA. Quote
NoToes Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 Have you been up Depot Creek before? The approach shouldn't be a problem unless you are not familiar with the boulder dash next to the waterfall....for some reason this gives some people problems......the road can be a little muddy this time of year.....bring 4x4....my Subaru got worked as I recall. Just give it a shot......it's a lonely area. Quote
Dru Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 Looking south 06/22 from about 20km north, the NE glacier of Redoubt looked to be in good shape. Quote
mattp Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 Depending on how far you drive (are you worried about your paint job?) you will hike about two miles before running into a sign informing you that you must turn around, hike out, drive back accross the border, and get a wilderness pass at Sedro Wooley and a customs entry permit or some such thing at the border. Dru Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 We dont let the Tool bring his gun into Canada so if he wants to check your pass he is gonna have to hike or helicopter in from Baker I guess. Also the parking lot is in Canada so no parking pass required Quote
MountainMan Posted June 25, 2002 Author Posted June 25, 2002 Thanks for the replies. I decided to wait on Spickard/Redoubt/Rahm/Custer until later on in the season (probably the last week of July). Quote
