Janet Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Hi everyone! My friend (experienced)should have returned from a Mt Stewart climb last evening at 6pm. He has not. Today is a work day so he is not walkabout. Worried. He has a cell phone. Have notified Kittitas police - he MAY be driving a 98 dark blue Windstar or not if he went with a friend - not sure. Have you seen him/helped him/seen the van? Over 6', cropped hair, in good shape and very experienced - Any suggestions on what else I can do? Janet Quote
Off_White Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Name? What route was he on? Was he with anyone else? What trailhead was he starting from? Have the sheriff's checked whether his van is still at the trailhead? It's not uncommon to have an unexpected day attach itself to a Stuart route, and there's lots of company up there these days. Alpine_Tom Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Sorry for the alarm. We were on the Stuart N. Ridge, and had to bivy at the summit. Wife got a bit alarmed. When I was up there 9 years ago, there was good cell service, but not any more. Quote
Alpine_Tom Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Thanks. It was a really fun climb, and we were the only ones we saw on the route. Such a distinctive and impressive route is a wonderful experience. The slog out is a drag, but I'm already starting to forget how miserable that part was, and thinking about next time, leading it!
