fenderfour Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 A couple of newbies want to climb at Exit 38, but they aren't comfortable leading yet. Are there any areas with decent walk-offs for them to set toprope anchors? The only place that came to mind was Gritscone at The Far Side. What about some others? Thanks Y'all Quote
cman Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 up higher at the far side you can TR some stuff, interstate park i think. Quote
tivoli_mike Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 (edited) Heck there is the classic "Write off Rock" right on the Trestle. With a 5.5 and 5.9. You can also set up toprope on the 5.7 next to the trestle on "Substation Rock" as well. Be ready for crowds though. Also the Squishy Bell up on Interstate Park has about four routes that can be TRed. Edited June 3, 2005 by tivoli_mike Quote
gary_hehn Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 exit38/the far side/gritscone has TR's as well. Quote
Maestro Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 up higher at the far side you can TR some stuff, interstate park i think. Just above that is a small crag called "Squishy Bell" with 4 short, very easily top-roped pitches (5.5 - 5.9). Gritscone, already mentioned, is closer and includes some harder (5.5 - 5.11) top-ropeable routes, also quite short. Quote
