Alan Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 (edited) I knew how good pants they have and instead being depressed I went to climb Stonecrop Glacier route on Slalok. Even tough I didn't complete it I felt much better than going to the sale. Whole trip was about 20$ (with coffee in Whistler). I am drooling over Needle55, tired of doing overnight trips with 35 lit pack. How was the trip? Conditions? Edited May 31, 2005 by fern Quote
Andrew_R Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) Check the conditions out for yourself, Zoran put a nice picture on Bivouac.com, sounds like things were a tad warm Edited May 31, 2005 by fern Quote
Zoran Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) Snow was very soft and unstable. Weather was hot, hot, hot ... Plan was to climb North culoir of Tszil but we switched to Slalok. Around 4 PM we decided to return to the lake. It was day trip from Vancouver. We couldn't make it. Descent was "uncomfortable" because of hanging glacier above us. We were unroped to be faster but again we couldn't make it. It's beautiful moderate climb. Highly recomended. Edited May 31, 2005 by fern Quote
Alan Posted May 31, 2005 Author Posted May 31, 2005 Looks fantastic. A couple of years ago when I did Taylor and Tszil, I scoped out that route on Slalok. Must go back very soon and deal with it. Nice shots! Quote
