ryland_moore
Thinking of taking 7-10 days off at the end of July for a climbing trip. How's the weather in the Bugs typically that time of year or is it better to wait until later in August? Other suggestions if the Bugs are wet this time of year? Winter
Ryland that's a good time to be there.
stinkyclimber
The times I have been there at that time have all been great. Snowfree rock. The glaciers and especially the 'schrund below the BS col are usually fairly well covered (although the past few dry years may have changed things). The weather is as good as it ever can be for the area.
Jopa
Have they had as bad of a snow year as we have? I was thinking of heading there in the June 28-July 2 range. From what I have read that may normally be too early, but this year seems a month ahead of "normal". Thoughts?
stinkyclimber
Ask at the Live-the-Vision board. I suspect you will be OK, but much will depend on the spring weather.
snoboy
The Bugs have an average snowpack this year, AFAIK. I have had good luck at the first week of August, and imagine that late July would also be nice. I think I will be going around that time if I make it up there this year.
