boatskiclimbsail Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I'm going to be spending some time in Hell's Canyon in mid April on the Snake and will have a few days on either end of the trip. I did a search and found some folks on this boar (or at least who used to be) with some route info. I understand there is no printed guide to speak of. Can anyone point me in the direction of some locals or anyone who could knows the area? Thanks! Quote
mtn_mouse Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Ask away, or PM me. I live right on the edge. Edge of Hells Canyon that is. Quote
Marty Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 go to rockclimbing.com then go to washington, then E. Wash, then Mclellan, and then you'll find a guy named roadstead. He has all the info. However, due to the spread out nature of the routes he probably can give you a general idea of where to climb at but not really "guide" (unless he meets you down there) type of description. All the sport routes are bolted real well (to well for all the big balled rockstars who spray on this site) so if you get in trouble you can always bail off. Its a great crag and excellent landscape. Have fun cause there's a ton of routes to try with enless rock. Quote
boatskiclimbsail Posted March 3, 2005 Author Posted March 3, 2005 I'm mainly looking for long multipitch routes (is it high enough for 4+ pitches?) in the .10-.11 range. Cruisin Quote
shapp Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Marty does not apparently know of the mixed multipitch routes that have been put up in the old time "sporty" fashion. Hope the info I emailed you (boatskiclimbsail) helps. Make sure you post a TR when you get back with some pics. Jason Quote
