jkrueger Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 More elusive than Bigfoot, the enigma that is Texplorer has finally been photographed! Though unconfirmed, it is believed that what follows is an actual photo of Texplorer in his natural environment: Sources close to the scene report that this photo was taken while Tex was establishing his first ever first ascent. In true style, the ascent was put up onsight, from the ground up, on lead. Obviously, no cleaning or inspection was done prior to the ascent! The route is thought to be rated 10d, but this may change if additional footholds are discovered underneath the dense moss and vegetation. * The location of this event has been withheld to protect the innocent. jkrueger Posted November 4, 2002 Author Posted November 4, 2002 And how many routes do you know of where the tree is actually part of the route? Quote
chucK Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 trad = trees are part of route sporto = vegetation (and crack next to bolts) are "off" Quote
Dru Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 I thought Tex's first ever first ascent was on Slesse and also featured vegetation? Quote
