hcf1 Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Hi I realise im probably looking for the impossible boots here, but im after a pair of really lightweight boots that will take a pair of hybrid crampons (clip at the back, but just loop over the toes at the front). The should be comfy enough to wear with crampons all day, and preferably narrow (I have really skinny feet!). Ive been looking at The la sportiva glacier and the salomon ice light or pro trek 7. Anyone own any of these and got an opinion, also what is the contagrip sole like compared to vibram? cheers H Quote
JohnHemlock Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 I sent you a PM but after re-reading your post I think the Glacier might be a bit heavy for what you want. Either the Salomons or Montrail Lotus would be a good bet. None of them are going to be particularly warm if you're on snow all day. Quote
foolscongress Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 check out the montrails. they'll do what you need, though probably you'll need new crampons. Quote
kurthicks Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 my girlfriend has a pair of montrails that fit that bill. she likes them, can wear them all day, and climb well with Charlet Sarkens. not sure what model they are though. got them at REI clearance super cheap Quote
hcf1 Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 cheers guys, i'll keep them in mind. At the moment In leading towards the salomons (got a great pair of summer salomons that fit really well) but I guess its just a case of getting the right fit. Quote
