chops Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Given decent weather, do average trail conditions in mid to late May make a car to car of the Mt. Adams south route doable? I'd be coming from MN and am wondering how ambitious of a plan this is? Quote
barjor Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Hard to say. It all depends on how much snow we will get the next couple of month. The snow depth is really low at the moment so unless something wet happens you should be fine. On a normal year I would say no. Quote
chops Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 Is snow depth the factor as it relates to ease of movement over the terrain? Would additional precip make mid to late June a more reasonable time? Thanks. Quote
kurthicks Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 typically the road is snowed in until early June. they don't plow the last 15 miles or so. travel should be easy no matter what the snowpack is like, take skis if you're inclined or at the very least a lightweight sled for the descent. things go much faster.
