ladyrose42 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I was wondering if Gore-Tex gear needs to be treated/conditioned after a certain period of time? If so how do I treat it or what do I buy to treat it with? Quote
thelawgoddess Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 PRO MOUNTAIN SPORTS used to carry it. (haven't been in lately to notice.) they will ship it to you. rainy pass repair should have it - also in seattle. otherwise you can order it HERE from rei.com ... pretty simple. Quote
tomtom Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 The GoreTex membrane doesn't need to be treated, but the outer fabric needs an effective DWR for it to work. If the fabric doesn't bead and gets saturated, then the laminate can't breathe. Climbing Mag was giving away small bottles of ReviveX at the Ouray Ice Festival, although that doesn't help you now.
