Dave_Schuldt Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Dryad and I headed up there today. Went over Windy Pass and got confused where the grooming stoped part way down the other side. After a few wrong turns we found the right way and finished the loop. A perfect blue wax day with some nice skating and fantastic kick and glide. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/data/500/1281P1090001-med.JPG Can you say thin? Quote
Greta Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Looks good. What is the distance/time related to your effort? You know what I mean. Quote
Double_E Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 sweet. went up to Paradise yesterday with this guy i work with... climbed up to 7500, about half way to Camp Manure. 'bout 12 inches of fairly dry freshiez!! much niceness. mostly cloudy, fairly poor visibility ... but at one point it freakishly cleared up -- like completely -- for 30 minutes, and we saw the entire mountain, and the valleys below too. Dave_Schuldt Posted January 10, 2005 Author Posted January 10, 2005 (edited) About 15K, don't know about elevation gain. 2500'? Took us about 5.5 hours. If will be much faster when it's all groomed. If anyone wants to head up this weekend let me know. Edited January 10, 2005 by Dave_Schuldt Quote
dryad Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Oh man, do I really look that dorky when I'm skiing? I'm so embarassed! Anyway, 15-16k, something like that. Add a couple more for a little route finding confusion and other farting around. Our pace could best be described as "leisurely". Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted January 16, 2005 Author Posted January 16, 2005 MarkL and I were up there today. We did the loop plus some touring in the old groth by Grand Junction. Wax was kinda lame in the mornig but as soon as it started to snow in worked great. Glad I got some before all the rain next week melts it. Quote
