max Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 just rolled into Las Vegas (picking up a freind on the way to joshua tree...) and was greetd by rain. sweet. Poor AK-ites flying down and getting the hose. It's supposed to be sunny on new years day, 20-30 % daily chance of rain until then... time to go see a movie, huh? Hey Ncascades, where are you in jtree? I'll be in a white toyot 2wd w/ a black top. stop and say hi. dave Quote
bobinc Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 It's a car wash; I delayed going down until Thurs because of it. A group of us will be at Indian Cove, Site 12 through Sun then I'll probably be over at Ryan for a few days. I'm the grumpy guy with the stupid rental car. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 We got in one day of climbing at Intersection Rock on the 27th and it was great. We did Bat Crack, 5.5(MA), Mike's books, 5.6, and the Flake 5.8. It rained hard on the 28th, so we played tourist in town. On the 29th it was still too windy and cold for my likes, but we did get in some nice hikes and had fun all the same. Wish I could have stayed longer. Quote
Alpinfox Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 We got in one day of climbing at Intersection Rock on the 27th and it was great. We did ... the Flake 5.8. Did you lead that one Catbird? I would have found the beginning chimney section a little spicy to lead, but I don't do wide cracks (wink wink nudge nudge) so I let the MisterE wide-crack machine tackle that one. That climb is incredible; chimney, hand crack, finger crack, layback, and slab all packed into one 40m package. Sweet. Quote

Success came as a result of having a Camalot #4 and not thinking about it too long before launch. Quote
