Bogen
From lower mainland. Maybe stretch to the 4th or 8th. Film fest, ice-climbing? If cold temps persist over there, I'm going. Have all gear, including an extra set of tools, need climbing partner.
thelawgoddess
that sounds great ... but what about a fast-flying jet for those of us who have real jobs? people stuck in town should see the events forum for the nov. 6th "ice" comp at cascade crags ... Bogen
No jet, prob leave after work and drive most of the night. Hell, you can sleep in the back, wake up in Banff and pretend it was a teleporter!
thelawgoddess
you planning on doing more trips like that this winter?
Bogen
Yes, minimum one per month. If Lillooet comes in well, then less driving more climbing.
glassgowkiss
hey check the sale on westjet. $86 CAN one way from abbotsfort to calgary- 1hr flight. what sucks- now u have to pay for parking though. abbotsfort is less then 3 hours from seattle. tlg- i might be going there over thanksgiving- if u need a ride. Bogen
Parking is free at abbotsford airport, but if you fly, then you have to rent, and still drive 2 hours. By the time you get to the airport 1 hour early, fly, land, rent a car and drive to banff you have used 5 hours, and spent more money. 10 hour drive from abbottsford to banff. You can do that after work and still get a decent sleep, spending less money than you would if you stayed home and got drunk cause you're feeling sorry for yourself. thelawgoddess
not sure about thanksgiving. well, maybe the day after i could go for the weekend. but i'd need a partner, too. i'll have to see what happens between now and then before i make any plans, though. i definitely wanna go when you take your old roomie (mr. rr) out for his first time so sign me up for that one for sure. glassgowkiss
as far as littlewet the van leaves 4:00 am sharp from b-ham every sat morning, as long as there is ice. so you can always catch a ride with the crew.
Coondog
Hey Bogen- Â I'm interested in climbing some Banff ice, drinking biers and watching mountain porn movies... I'm gainfully unemployed, what else should I be doing? Â I've got an appointment Thurs morning which I could probably change anyway, then open for the weekend... Â Lemme know. Â Cheers- --Jeff
