1)Theraband snapped in two this morning

 

2)Monitor just blew a tube, now using formerly retired 15" postage stamp sized screen monitor.

 

Will my car engine explode as I go for coffee?

I fix monitors and stuff. Probably not the tube. What brand and model?

It has been spontaneously crashing and then flickering back on once or twice a day, for the last 6 months. Now it won't come back on.

The boards on those run a little hotter than some, resulting in ring cracks in the solder joints and dried out electrolytics. This causes the intermittent problems, til' something more critical pops. If you can easily afford it, replace it. If you want me to rebuild it, I will.

I think it had something to do with the boss pouring water in the back grill while trying to water the ivy. It has never been the same since.

 

I'd rather get a new one than fix the PoS.

Water will kill it right away or not at all. I had a woman once whose tv had been acting up but started working better after she accidentally dribbled water in it. A few weeks later it started acting up again, guess what she did. What a joke!

Anyway, I suspect your monitor probably has plenty of hours on it...
