minx Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 as part of my upcoming vacation, i'd like to include some alpine fun in canada. we'd like to go for something that has a lot of 5.6/5.7 pitches. we'll go for a tougher approach for some fun climbing. what are your favorites. we have a couple in mind but i'd love to hear something more original than what we've thought of. Dru Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 but what part of canada its no good my recommending nw arete of sir donald if you are planning on visiting ontario Quote
minx Posted July 12, 2004 Author Posted July 12, 2004 oh sure get picky! anywhere in the 1/3 of BC. how's that for specific? plans are nebulous at this time. Quote
iain Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 It's all the same up there. A sea of canadian bacon, maple syrup, guys on horses, past-due-date british candy, and really shitty impatient drivers wheeling around in cars that have, at a bare minimum, 1cm of road grime on all surfaces. Quote
Dru Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 which 1/3. east, west, south? Â don't forget that peanut butter is a controlled substance up here! Quote
minx Posted July 12, 2004 Author Posted July 12, 2004 ok, you guys are worthless so far! i said the lower 1/3. east or west is fine. we'll be driving north from central WA so it doesn't matter. we're just looking for some new ideas. we have no plan, no itinerary, no schedule. a few hours one way or the other doesn't matter. Â do i have to register my sammiches at the border? is jelly ok or is it controlled too? Quote
iain Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Make sure you declare all Reese's Pieces. It's a pain in the ass but you will be busted for each piece otherwise. The customs folk have a special little stamp if you have a license to carry. Didn't those punks ever see E.T.? Â A peanut butter cup is attempt to distribute so I would not even try. Quote
Greg_W Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Does Canada have any laws about nougat? I mean, that stuff is all over the place: in Snickers, Milky Way, who knows where else it's lurking. Quote
