Dru
I just thought that since all the ice climbers out there are nervously watching the mercury I should post some conditions! Mousetrap - high volume Better Mousetrap - grass and dirt Hells Lake Falls - jetskis on approach, may be difficult to cross lake Sailor Bar Gully - nice collection of plants flowering at crux Super Heroes Cirque - Kryptonite Column slightly dripping; other routes dry but not well formed Under The Big Top/Water Music - in situ pigeons at crux Also of note is that a forest fire is currently burning above Honeyman Falls. Does that red foam freeze???
JoshK
LOL. wow, that was random, but quite amusing. Any clue if it's warm enough to be using wetsuits yet, or are most climbers still sticking to drysuits?
Dru
i think you just need to keep your tool dry not your whole suit

mr.radon
I was up there this Sunday. This is so funny. The first time I was up there in the summer and its like a broiler oven, 95F. I ran into the local pub and sucked a few brews back to re-hydrate. I'm like telling the folks, really, this is where jdog and I go to climb ice!!! Attached pic of fire near lilooet. Dru
There is no ice at all on the Sumallo Bluffs. Most of the face is bone dry. However there is a faint trickle in the "unclimbed gully" out right which promises great things if we get a quick freeze in the next few weeks
