dlofgren Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 The last time I drove up the valley road past the school there was a new road/gate, and the gates to both the old and new roads were locked with signs saying "stay out". Does anyone know if climbing is still allowed? Plum Creek had a "don't ask/don't tell" policy. If there is new ownership, is it the same with the new owner? Quote
top_op Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 I was there 2 weeks ago and we drove to the usual spot. stopped at the usual gate, walked across the old gravel pit and into the woods. There was a new paved gated road to the left but you dont take that anyway. Property is still owned by Plum Creek Quote
dlofgren Posted May 31, 2004 Author Posted May 31, 2004 Thanks, top op. That's what I needed to know. I forgot to say that my last attempt to get there was last fall. Quote
Stretch75 Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 I've heard of the Wilkeson climbing, but haven't had a chance to make it up there yet. Mind if I tag along one of these days?? --Stretch Quote
quikclimber Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 good ole wilkeson... i was there earlier this spring and parked at the usual gate. i hope they never close that place up Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 So where is this place and what's it like? Quote
Figger_Eight Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 It's out near Enumclaw. There are some decent routes out there on sandstone. I was there a couple of years ago and had to bail back into the woods because someone was taking pot shots at us with his rifle! Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 So was that Osama bin Bubba doing the shooting? Quote
Stretch75 Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Nah, it was probably the same kids who shot the the dog with the arrow... Quote
dlofgren Posted June 9, 2004 Author Posted June 9, 2004 Stretch / Schuldt - It's a small sandstone cliff with bolted routes ranging from 5.easy to 5.hard. What time do you get off work/out of school on weekdays? I could meet you in Buckley and climb from 4-ish to dark some evening. Gotta make it this week or next; the sawbones will stab my left knee on the 18th. Email me at dlofgren@integrity.com if you want to climb there. Quote
