colchuck area permits

what's a boy gotta do to get a permit to stay around colchuck lake for a week or so? i don't usually play by the rules but as i'm thinking of being in the area for an extended time i might be persuaded...do i have a prayer for getting a permit for that lenght of time, just over a month from now?

If you're starting Sunday through Thursday, just show up at the ranger station at 7:30AM the day of your trip and do the daily "lottery." On a weekday, it's very likely that there will be no lottery and they'll just hand you your permit. If you're starting on Friday or Saturday, be sure to have a backup plan, but you'll probably still get in.
