mattp Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 CC.COM's spring picnic will be May 4, at Magnuson Park. Come join us and meet potential climbing partners, share a hot dog, or maybe watch slides. Got some cool shots of you last vacation? Quote
mattp Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS Picnic Shelter Number One at Magnuson Park burned down last night! I'm not kidding. This is no April Fools joke. Thats what the Parks and Recreation lady said. We may want to go to Greenlake instead, because I think there is no power outlet at the other Magnuson Park shelters. I'll check on this. *&%# vandals!!!!!!! Quote
JoshK Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Did they know it was a vandal, or could it just be a dipshit that set the thing on fire while trying to light a barbeque with gasoline or something? Quote
mattp Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 She said they didn't have the fire department's report yet, but they've had an ongoing problem with vandals in various parks near the University of Washington. @*%%! college kids!!!!!!!!! Quote
JoshK Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Yah, it's not all of us, some of us burn other things down... Quote
catbirdseat Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Matt you certainly are intent on making this The Big Event, aren't you? Quote
mattp Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 I don't know about "THE BIG EVENT," but last year we had about 50 people show up. These indluded several Seattle area climbers who wouldn't think of spraying on this website. It was fun to share some burgers, meet some new faces and watch slides. Many climbers exchanged contact information and later hooked up for climbs as a result. As I've noted on my flier, there used to be an event called the "Climber's Picnic" many years ago. It was held in this same location, for several years in a row, until discontinued fifteen years ago or maybe twenty. As we are holding this year's event in the old location and there is lawn bowling nearby, maybe we can get some of the "old guard" to show up. Quote
dkemp Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Sounds good, thanks for your effort Matt. I've got this in my book. Dox Quote
