Distel32 Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 haha, I'm talking to you, I'm going to squamish. Quote
catbirdseat Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 We passed some cool looking boulder problems at 3,700 ft on the approach to Davis Peak. I was thinking "Distel would think this was cool". Given that these boulders are about 2,700 ft above the road, I am confident that they will remain safe from Boulder Boy. Quote
Distel32 Posted April 12, 2004 Author Posted April 12, 2004 how many miles in? granite??? how are the landings? distance from bham?? Â I have free time!!! Â I'm going to check these out this summer: Â Â going to be an amazing alpine bouldering area Quote
thrutch Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 My only hope with an amazing alpine bouldering area, is that one considers their impact with more prudence then they would on a roadside crag/boulder. Quote
fenderfour Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 This is a way to make bouldering more like climbing. Put the boulders 3,000 feet up a snow field. Quote
catbirdseat Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I'll bet you'd do it. Virgin boulders, minimal cleaning required, decent landing zones, up to 20 ft vertical to slightly overhanging. Sections are wet, but will dry out soon. Hwy 20, pullout on left side of hwy where the powerlines cross it about 1.25 miles before where the hwy crosses Gorge Lake. I can provide a map if you are serious. Quote
