Pass riding around anchorage

I am going to Anch at the end of April to climb and snow board. Turnagain, hatcher, and thompson are on the list of destinations. A climb of Polar bear peak on Eagal creek is also planned.

to get to the point, this is my first trip to Alaska and I am looking for some first hand beta. A heads up on where to get local knowledge in anchorage would be really helpful.

stop by Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking (AMH) on Spenard road to get some beta and possibly meet some partners. the Alaska Rock Gym is also a good place to meet people.

Valdeez is probably a good area to look up for snowboarding.

It's a long drive from anchorage though.
