marylou Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I think we are going to head over there for a little spring skiing this weekend. If we decide to sleep indoors, anyone have any suggestions for a place they like to stay over there? Quote
fredrogers Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 The Mazama Country Inn in Mazama. It's fairly cheap, has good food and is right on the MVSTA ski trails. Quote
goatboy Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 A cheap option in Mazama is the Lost River Resort Cabins. See www.lostriverresort.com -- nice little cabins with kitchen facilities inside . . . about $75 night for weekends A good Winthrop option, great deal for the price, is the Chewuch Inn, $65 a night including breakfast, very nice rooms and great place, also on the MVSTA ski trail system. I was just up there this past weekend investigating options for a fall wedding in the Methow . . . Quote
Freeman Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 The Duck Brand in Winthrop is pretty funky. And a great place for breakfast http://www.methownet.com/duck/ Quote
markov Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 I concur regarding the Duck Brand - I've never stayed there, but I've eaten there often, and they have great coffee and very cool staff. Quote
ski_photomatt Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 Methow Central reservations has info on tons of places to stay up and down the valley, prices, availability, ect. One stop shopping: http://www.methowreservations.com/ Quote
Double_E Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 never been there in the winter but I have had the pleasure of working in that area for parts of three different summers. stayed at the Duck Brand a bunch, and liked it; rooms were kinda simple/humble, but it was nice having the restaurant just downstairs. other places we stayed often: http://www.virtualcities.com/ons/wa/c/wac7201.htm (right across street from the MV Brewing Co) http://www.riversedgewinthrop.com/resort/area.html good luck!
