Blake Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 I skied the heather canyon area of meadows yesterday for the first time, enjoyed it thoroughly. However, only the lower section was open. (Looks like it was lower 3/4 or so) I could see tracks way across the canyon to the far wall and what looked like some nice lines coming down, while some followed the opposite wall of the canyon all the way down to the HC chair before dropping in opposite Jack's Woods. How the heck do people get over there to start with? Can it be reached from a meadows lift, do you have to hike/skin up, or a comnbination of both? Cascade Express wasn't really operating and there were still a lot of tracks on top of the fresh snow from the night before. Quote
Blake Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 thanks for the info, i'll give the cascade traverse over a try if I feel rich enough to go day skiing there again. I found this http://www.spiritone.com/~carpjam/html/hood/heather.htm with some pertinent pics too. What is Newton Ridge? Quote
