Farrgo Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 All my potential partners for this weekend bailed on me last night. Anybody wan't to go out this weekend? I'm willing to do anything (rock ice skiing). Can leave right now, don't have to be back until 10am on tuesday. farrnr@hotmail.com. Quote
ashw_justin Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 As long you've got enough experience for the both of us, I'm down. What I mean is, I've got some climbing experience but I'm guessing not as much as you. I'm also in B'ham. Snowshoes, snowboard, little bit of rock gear, a couple ice screws, couple pickets, boots and crampons... I know there's a recipe for fun in there somewhere. I might be busy on Sunday though. justin@neolectric.com Quote
layton Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 it's amazing how those same ingredients can also make unfun. Quote
ashw_justin Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 you don't need any ingredients for unfun, except for stupidity and bad luck. Quote
skykilo Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Justin- I'd be more than happy to do something unfun with you, seeing that is my specialty. Or even better, have Jeff take you somewhere. Ha ha. Quote
JoshK Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 I have a surefire recipe for unfun. Pick a day or two when the weather looks nasty, pack a bunch of crap and head out saying "I know it'll break, it's gonna clear up." Then proceed to next day or two in the tent. For extra fun, go somewhere with a snowpack but *below* the expected snow level. This recipe has worked for me time and time again. Quote
cracked Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Hiking in the rain for three hours to ski 1000 vertical feet in a whiteout was probably the most unfun/stupid trip I've done. It RULED! Quote
JoshK Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Yeah, my trip up to panaroma point and back a few weeks ago in a comlpete whiteout was right up there. Afwul snow and complete vertigo. I actually came to a complete stop and then fell right over a few times. Quote
A-Dog Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 If anyone wants to climb Red Mountain near Snoqulamie pass on the morning of 2-15 I'm down. It looks like a sweet descent from Alpental's Chair Two. Just have a beeper and shovel. I got an extra pair of snowshoes. Anyone?? Quote
ashw_justin Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 There is in fact talk of a knuckledragger assault in that area tomorrow. Would be a multilateral operation involving myself, some buddies, and a guy Sky knows, who as it happens needs snowshoes. I also will be carrying a beeper and shovel, I'm not sure about the others. justinATneolectricDOTcom Quote
A-Dog Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Well I will be at the summit west parking lot in a blue Ford Ranger with a Black canopy at around 8 AM with two pairs of Snowshoes. My name is ARI. If I don't hook up with anyone, I'll just hit Alpental. Quote
ashw_justin Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 A-Dog we came looking for you around 8 but no luck. Maybe I should have told you I have kayak racks. Hope your day was cool nonetheless. Quote
