kurthicks Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 Ok, so i know everyone says that Fritschis don't work with mountaineering boots, but has anyone actually tried to use the Fritschi Titanal 2 with the Salomon Mtn. 9 boots (or similar)? I tried it today in the shop and it seems to work (and hold) just fine, but does anyone have actual experience with it? it looks like they'd be a little better if i shaped the front of the boot some, but they seem like they'd work fine for moderate stuff. anybody? it basically comes down to the fact that i can't really afford new boots right now... Bronco Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 I've skied on downhill bindings in my leather mountaineering boots. No control whatsoever, but, you can get down the hill. I went up on some Alpine Trekers. Lace those boots up as tight as possible for the descent!!! Quote
kurthicks Posted November 19, 2003 Author Posted November 19, 2003 hey bronco, thanks for some info. I know they're going to ski like crap, but that's ok. I'm thinking about cutting the shell off of some old alpine boots and slipping them over my boots and crankin' them down for stabibility. any thoughts? Quote
Bronco Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 I've seen where people just use a pair of plastic ankle cuffs over their leathers. Aparantly it's effective to a certain degree. Quote
