Some Granite Peak up North A Ways

Jordop and Steve H and I went in to climb this granite spire type peak. Jordop had tried it 6 times already without success and felt sure it was unclimbed.

 

We did a nice scramble type route up the ridge carrying heavy racks of gear which were never used.

 

On top we had a view of Enchantments-type ridges of towers and splitter cracks. Also of a big summit cairn. Turns out jordop's "unclimbed" summit had had its first ascent in 1949

 

Its nonetheless a sweet peak and 'twas a very good weekend out.

 

Could have done it as a day trip but went in for the weekend. Originally planned to spend Sat climbing another route on another peak but instead ended up doing a bunch of alpine power napping and bouldering. Steve's arete problem with an active wasp nest as crux foothold was particularly spicy.
