Beck Posted September 4, 2003 Posted September 4, 2003 did that happen recently? contact the AAJ for accidents in american mountaineering,in boulder, 303 384 0110 with questions... i know a ranger at rainier, he and a buddy were trapped for over a day in a crevasse on rainier back in the sixties, he climbed to the top with a sharpened spoon! Rick inspires me to always carry a spoon in my parka.. and never surrender Quote
cluck Posted September 4, 2003 Posted September 4, 2003 Crazy. Exactly one year ago today I was climbing the upper Exum under clear skies and beautiful weather. Getting pinned by a storm high on that route would suck ass. That guy is one tough bastard. Hope he recovers well Quote
Bug Posted September 4, 2003 Posted September 4, 2003 I like the part about the 16 year-old "wearing denim cutoffs under rain pants". Good alpine apparel. Quote
