TandF
Has any one done sitkum glacier in the last couple of weeks? Is it possible to do that route with out a rope safely? Are there any tech parts to the route? My first time up. That route seems like it is the best way with out pro.
jbclimber
I was up there 2 weekends ago. The route is in good shape. However, I would recommend that you rope up. One of my partners fell waist deep into a (not visible) crevasse on the lower Sitkum glacier!
Paul_K
We did it this weekend. We roped up for the ascent, but descended un-roped. We didn't see any open crevasses near the climbing route. I would have been comfortable doing it un-roped. This was my first time up there, and I was surprised at how steep the last bit to the summit was.
