Ptarmigan Traverse

My partner and I are going to do the Ptarmigan Traverse the third week of July (two weeks from now) in five days. We would like to have a third person on the rope team (or two people for two rope teams). If interested, drop me a PM. We will need to do some sort of climb beforehand to get aquainted.

if you are wanting the 3rd for security's sake, I would offer that the glacier crossings on the ptarmigan traverse are not very technical. if you are more comfortable with a third, however, don't listen to me, just my 2 cents.

i agree about the third and the glaciers being easy to cross.. however i suppose the third could carry more beer.

We did the traverse last summer and we never roped up.

Yeah, I agree. We basically want a third partner for company sake. We are doing Three Fingers Monday or Tuesday of next week so write me a PM or contact me asap. We are still on for July 14-18 weather providing. Should be off the hook!

I've done the Ptarmigan twice and would agree with most of the responses with the exception being the Middle Cascade Gl. There are some big crevasses there and the route can't always be as direct as you like. I would feel more comfortable with a third person, though I've done it with just the two.
