shakrmakr Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hello, I'm new to the CC Board and a novice climber. I'm planning a Mt. Thielsen climb for next week (6/17 or 6/18) and I was wondering if anyone has been on it recently and could give me some info regarding current conditions, etc. Any sort of info or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks much. Quote
Fejas Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Heres my advice... take it as you will... wait a month to climb it, and do it in the morning... have fun playing around on the rock, and good luck finding the easy route up to the summit ..... its easy to get to, its fun to do, but even funer to camp up there and spend the day makin your own route to the top... cracked Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 I was up there on Memorial Day weekend, skiing. We hit a whiteout and didn't summit that time. Expect snow on the approach. The pinnacle was totally bare, so there's even less of a chance of finding snow there now. Just be careful, the rock is easy, but if you fall, it would really suck. Quote
shakrmakr Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 Well guys, thanks for the info and encouragement. We'll see how the conditions and weather are next week, but hopefully Wed or Thurs I'll go for it. Thanks again Quote
