qjackson Posted November 30, 2001 Posted November 30, 2001 I am heading to Smith Rock to aid(clean) up the east face of monkey face this weekend. Has anyone been on the route within the last year or so and could help me out with a gear list? I figure lots of small stuff. Thanks Quote
Wallstein Posted November 30, 2001 Posted November 30, 2001 Most important thing you bring is a jacket. It is going to be dam cold on the east face, probably somewhere in the high 20's. I have never been on the east face but have looked at it and have done the northwest passage. I would suggest at least three sets of rps or more. It is way thin up there. It is a real striking line and looks like alot of fun to climb. free or aid. Quote
texplorer Posted November 30, 2001 Posted November 30, 2001 Congrats on your first post Quinn. As you can see I've spent way too much time on here. Quote
Billy Posted November 30, 2001 Posted November 30, 2001 Great aid route. It takes mostly small and medium stoppers. Some RP's and cams up to finger size would also be helpful. The final pitch up to the top is way cool, with runout exposed, easy free climbing. Quote
