Bronco
But how cool the Fred Beckey Show was last night! Alpine_Tom
If you haven't, you should have a look at William O. Douglas's book "Of Men and Mountains" It's just amazing the stuff they packed -- five-pound sacks of flower, dried beans, sugar, hunks of bacon, all wrapped up in wool blankets... and a big iron skillet for cooking and glissading with! dkemp
yeah Bronco, I caught the show in Seattle last week - really fun. I liked most the Alaska photos from 1954. He was so casual about it - 'here we are on Deborah, and here we are on NW Ridge of Denali, and here we are on Hunter with Harrer...' Amazing stuff. Friendly after the show too. I got him to sign my Red Fred and he was fun to talk to.
