Necronomicon Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Yup, sure looks like things are a bit uglier in Iraq than some of you flagwavers were predicting. Seems like a real clusterfuck forming up. I guess they aren't welcoming us with open arms, at least according to the foreign press. My favorite quote was from this morning's news conference: "We advise Iraqi civilians to not put themselves in harms way by leaving dangerous areas" or something like that, meaning "We're going to bomb your cities, but if you try and leave, we may consider bombing your truck." Also, I saw all of this cool video of buildings being destroyed by precision munitions, but I didn't see any of a busload of Syrian civilians being blown to pieces. Thankfully, Syria is a staunch American ally, so this won't affect our relationship with them. Quote
vegetablebelay Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 I think you've been watching too much Iraqi tv. Quote
freeclimb9 Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 dude, the bloodletting hasn't even begun. I reckon that when Saddam and his sons are running (or hiding like Aidid), old scores will be ruthlessly settled. Few societies have ever thrown off their reins in a peaceful way. Quote
