If you can't get a hard copy of this morning's Seattle Times article on Fred Beckey, here is the link:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/134647956_beckey07m.html

The one-hour interview on TVW will be broadcast at 9:00 p.m. on TVW, which is channel 23 in most areas (or check the cable listings at www.tvw.org)

The audio portion of the interview is currently available at the www.tvw.org website (go to the bottom of the page and click on the "Author's Hour" link).

As for the person on this board who asked why The Mountaineers didn't publish this book, you will have to listen to the interview to find out Fred's answer when I asked him that same question. Yes, I am the interviewer. Your (constructive) critiques are welcome.

We (my friends and me) always have visions of Becky roaring through Concrete on a WWII motorcycle being chased by the police and evading them with massive amounts of smoke from the tail pipe on the way into the mountains. THis article cements that thought.

Just about everyone knows someone who has been caught in the famous (and well documented) Concrete speed trap.
