Rad Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Heading North for a few days and thinking about taking one or more of our teen kids up W Ridge of Sky Pilot. Can anyone comment on the conditions of the Stadium glacier? Crampons and ax essential? Rope? Moat issues? Seriously crevassed? Can these be easily skirted? Any info would be helpful. Thinking of approach and deproach via gondola. Thx much Quote
G-spotter Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 crampons and axe for sure otherwise just follow the beaten in trail rope? can they downclimb 40 m of exposed 4th class without you worrying? then no. otherwise yes. take a randonee rope and do the downclimb yourself after lowering them. Quote
