EJohnson Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 I'm looking for a new base/wind blocking layer. Has anyone tried Transition top or bottom? Erick Quote
Paul_K Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 I used a pair of the bottoms over the last year. The only complaint I have is the durability. I might get one more season out of them until the backside wears out. Otherwise they have been great. They have been comfortable over a wide range of conditions, from a March climb of Castle and Pinnacle to summer time on Ingalls to alpine ice on Kyes in September. I keep warm enough at belays, but don’t overheat while climbing. Quote
jordop Posted February 2, 2003 Posted February 2, 2003 MTN H transition will pill and snag, drive you nuts because there are no stretch areas and it's a bitch to get over your head and you will feel like a hothouse tomato. The Zip T was offered to me as a superprodeal for about $40 and I couldn't justify it. MEC version is cheaper if you really want one. Quote
EJohnson Posted February 2, 2003 Author Posted February 2, 2003 Thanks for the input. Sounds like durability is an issue. Anyone have an ideas on a better product? Erick Quote
