  1. Looking for at least one other climber for Rainier DC next week. I would prefer to make a single push - weather permitting of course. Leave paradise thurs 7/31 around 6 pm and take our time getting to Muir, make some coffee, grab a snack, dump some extra gear and head to the top around 12-1 am. I climbed the DC route in June in great weather. Went up last week and climbed to Muir at sunset. Was super tranquil climbing under the stars in the cool temps - makes the slog up to Muir tolerable. I want to climb thurs-fri and get back home for the weekend. I have all the gear necessary .. competent and safe climber .. would be willing to take some weight off my partner's pack. I know it's kind of short notice, but the weather is looking great! Who's with me? -SW
  2. That works perfectly for me. I've been in touch with 'going for it' as well through PM.. I could meet you at Paradise or Muir. Let me know what you think.
  3. What is your itinerary i.e. are you planning to camp at Muir and do a separate, late/early summit climb? Regardless, I'm available and would love to join you guys. Sounds like fun. I don't have experience on Rainier, but I've climbed every other peak in WA and CO. Best, Shaman
  4. I'm looking for a partner/partners to climb Rainier with sometime in May or June. I'm thinking late May would work best, before the crevasses open up. Also, the guide services should have trails established by then, which would make for an easy walk up via the DC route. Midweek is always my preference, so as to avoid trail congestion; however, I'm open to suggestions. I'm 28. I've made early and late season ascents on Hood and Adams within the last year. I've also climbed Baker. I know glacier travel and crevasse rescue. I'm always safe and, most importantly, I always have fun.
  5. If you guys are interested, I would seriously like to set something up soon. I apologize for my hastiness; it's just that I want to climb the peak and if this doesn't pan out then I have to hold a spot on a guided climb and there's only a few spots left. Enjoy the weekend
  6. I would be interested in joining your Rainier climb - I could be at the mountain as early as May 10th. I graduate college on May 9th. I am 27 and have been trying to find one or two other climbers for Rainier and haven't had any luck. I am starting to consider a guided ascent; however I would prefer to keep my $1000. I've climbed Adams and Hood several times solo and with small parties. I am fit and always climb safely.
  7. Saturday, 12/14 is something I'd be interested in. I've climbed Hood twice, went up south face both times; started from timberlodge.. Winter ascent sounds fun, kinda short notice though.
