  1. I was just there in august and will have a map plus GPS handy. And Im pretty sure REI rents mountaineering boots, certain ones at least. Probably best to check online.
  2. Got crampons? If so, hiking boots and realllly warm socks and be prepared to call it a day if it doesnt work out. Could always rent boots from REI. Think there are a couple other places that have rentals as well.
  3. I do have a gps and I can either make it down there friday afternoon or early saturday.
  4. Whos all still planing on going?
  5. Ben, I would like to get an earlier start and at make it to the lunch counter. What time were you wanting to start out?
  6. Yeah there's definitely some snow probably still on the mountain. I still have a few waypoints in my gps from August so if we should be alright. Glad you posted those though. Now everyone can have them.
  7. If we're wanting to do an alpine start then you're probably going to want crampons. When I did it in august we couldve probably gone all the way to the summit in tennis shoes. I imagine in the early morning it'll be pretty icy. Hows everyone doing on tents? I was planning on just using a bivy sack w/ a good sleeping bag. Since we seem to have a decent amount of people going (which is AWESOME lol) we could split up tents if people are comfortable with that.
  8. Yeah its called a Cascades Volcano pass and you can pick one up at the Trout Lake ranger station for $15
  9. I live west of seattle so I can definitely wait for a different weather window but I do have that weekend off so if the weathers nice I'll definitely be going. I'm also fine with however many people want to go. The more the merrier. I can possibly give car rides as well.
  10. I'd be interested in joining you on Adams. I just did it in August and Im already wanting to go back up. South spur right? @Matt If its the south spur that he's wanting to do its a great route for a new guy to do. It'll be cold but its basically long hike w/ an ice axe and crampons. Nothing really technical at all.
  11. They unload basically all of their rental gear from the year. I cant make it out there this year so I'm having to send my parents with cash and a list. Lol
  12. If you wouldnt mind teaching me how to set each of those pulley systems I would like to join you on Mt Hood. Always down for some learning.
  13. Are you bringing a stove? Cause if so then you could always melt water. Thats what I did. All I had was a nalgene bottle and plenty of fuel. Sure I ended up melting water at the summit (made for a nice rest stop). Water is heavy so its hard to find the right balance between enough and to much.
  14. Actually I ment August, sorry. I work the 23-25 in September.
  15. I was planning on it just to spend some extra time in the outdoors.
  16. I would be available the 2-4 of September. I'm a complete noob but all geared up, a quick learner, and in good shape.
  17. Im planning on doing that (South Spur) the weekend of the 19-21. Was going to do it solo but would be down for some company.
  18. I find out my schedule tomorrow and would definitely be interested in joining you if I can. I am fairly new to the climbing scene but am physically fit, all geared up, and a quick learner.
