In fact in a month or so you can start your training with these on the Stonegardens outdoor wall drytool routes!

With all this rain you must be realizing that the winter is fact upon us! TOOLS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!!

Bump for price drop! These tools are now $225!

STILL AVAILABLE!

thanks! These are indeed great tools. I love them and have climbed plenty of ice on them. I'm not exactly a historian of ice tools by any means but these are certainly one of the models that brought about the leashless "revolution" and still hold their game well. the geometries of newer leashless tools are very similar. Petzl hit the sweet spot for these.

Bump for added Photos. Also you may notice that there is no hammer or adze on one of the tools. there used to be an adze, but i removed it so i didn't stab myself drytooling. I'll look for it!

Selling my old pair of ergos. these are the original ones (not the crazy new ones) with the orange handels. $250. they have seen about a season's worth of dry tool and ice use over the past few years but i have another pair to tools so these spend most of the time laying around. Plenty of life left in the picks, (I'll even sharpen them for you). there is some skate tape on the shaft for better grip when using upper hand positions and for keeping the tool in place when you lay it across your shoulder. These are really great tools. perfect for someone looking for a cheaper but "modern" leashless tool. perfect for dry tooling. I'm in seattle and would prefer local deals but i'll consider shipping. BEST WAY TO GET AHOLD OF ME IS TO CALL 206 eightfournine 6445. Thanks, Chris

this may not be relevant at all (i'm not a doctor, nor do i know my knee anatomy...) but i dislocated my knee bouldering and was TRing within a month and leading soon after on easier routes. i stayed away from bouldering for a while due to the whole falling thing though... no surgery, no PT, (but my mom is a PT and gave me some basic things to do). besides my MRI and other related doctor visits i never returned to the doctors and i recovered relatively fully. I'm young, and i think that helped a lot in my recovery, but i do regret not taking PT more seriously... i alpine climb / crag regularly in WA and boulder/lead in the gym regularly and ice climb during season, but within all of these realms i experience minor discomfort and pain. my knee dislike dropping from high boulder walls. my knee dislikes the long pain-in-the-ass hikes out that are more or less universally a part of cascade alpine climbing. my knee dislikes long days of front pointing on ice. my knee dislikes drop knees while sport climbing. my knees dislikes snowboarding for more than a few hours. the moral of the story is that ultimately your knees are critical to almost all the facets of outdoor life we love, and we owe it to ourselves to take care of them. I was (and still am) young, and rushed treatment and PT thinking it would be alright, and i may be paying the price for years to come. take your time, take PT seriously, and understand that knee pain/discomfort may always be a part of your active life, but that it'll be alright anyway, and wont hold you back. good luck, be healthy!

i have a small MEC pack that you may want. one main pocket, one small outside zip pocket. it's black and low profile. basically shaped like the BD bullet if you know that pack (i don't think they make it anymore...).. it's very basic. no outside straps. perfect for storing water, food, and random gear (slings biners harness camera compass etc) i doubt you could get a rope in there unless it was like a 50m 8mm or something. the exterior is heavy duty (cordura?) The funds are running low and I want to take another trip this winter. Help a friend out and buy some gear. I live in Seattle, and would prefer seattle area deals but I am willing to ship, especially if you want more than one item. You can pm me if you want, but the best way to get in touch with me is to call my cell – 206 849 6445. Cash would be best. Im trying to figure out the photo posting… photos may be found in yard sale gallery for now (sorry!). All prices are obo, please make any reasonable offer. Thanks! Chris Merrell Approach shoes: size 9 mens (basically brand new) $35 Grigri: seen some use but like all Grigri’s will probably last forever. Soon to be a collectors item!!!!!! $35 Metolius power cam: #5 (black) $20 Metolius nuts: 2-4, and 6-10. (Seen some use, not much). $40 BD Cyborg Crampons: these are not the stainless, they are from several years ago. No anti-balling plates. Minor rust (not a big deal), and pleanty of life left in frontpoints. $55 BD ATC: $5 Petzl Williams locker . (Almost new) $7 Petzl Am’D locker. (Almost new) $7 Camp Tri-Cams: Red and Brown (new) $15 each (no photo, but never used) BD ice screws. 7 of them. 2 of the long ones, 5 in the mid range. These are the generation right before they added the crank handle. These particular screws have had cracks retrofitted onto them. The crank doesn’t fold down like the new ones but it functions the same. Minor rust, could use some WD-40, for best results with these I would recommend sharpening them, but they work alright. Good starter set of screws. $10 eachAssorted biners. $3 Each (no photo) Chacos: men’s 9.5 (or 9 or 10…) black. Indestructible $25 (no photo) Climbing movies: Psyche, Hard grit, Too the Limit (Huber brothers speed climbing). Any offer. Rope: I don’t remember the name but it’s a Mammut and it’s 10.2. Being tan, it’s fairly dirty and about 4-5 years old. Exclusively a cragging rope, never seen crampons of anything like that, but has seen a few falls obviously. Make any offer. Maybe you want to make a rope rug? FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PACK: I have to packs to sell : and 38L NF for ice climbing, and a 90L (abouts) osprey that’s super comfortable. Photos to come / you can always come look. Or i can text you a photo? TNF Pack: “Spire” 38 Liter bomber ice tool attachments, gear loops on waist belt. Love this pack but I have too many. $60 Osprey 90L (huge). Comfortable!
