  1. Hello!

Selling an Arcteryx Alpha FL pack - this is the 45L version, it is red.

    Some notes:

-This is smallish for 45L (particularly compared to a CiloGear 45L), perhaps think of it closer to a 40.

-This pack has a inner roll top under the cinch top which makes the pack waterproof.

-Minimal use on this pack - less than a weeks worth of use. It has a tiny hole which I've put a bit of seam grip on.

    -Review here - http://www.rockandice.com/lates-news/arcteryx-alpha-fl-45-review

Sells for $240 new, this one is yours for $160obo.

Local pickup preferred - I'm in Seattle, WA. But I can ship and do PayPal as well.

    Thanks!

    Giles

  2. Selling a very lightly used pair of G14s. Used about 3 times before we decided we didn't like the fit (on itty bitty 37.5 Nepals). Everything that comes with the crampons retail is included here:

-full anti balling setup including Grivel's accordion things for the center bar.

-all 4 front points (you can switch between mono or dual)

-spacer sets for mono and dual point set ups

    -allen wrench and nut tool

-the small screws and nuts for screwing down center bar (if you wish)

There is one catch here - to fit these to the small boots we had to cut a small length of the center bar. With these center bars you can easily fit to boots up to about 43. bigger than that and you will need to purchase new center bars from Grivel. These can be bought for about $15

    These retail at $225

    selling for $175 obo

  3. My girlfriend is looking for an ice climbing boot for this winter. She's currently looking at the womens Nepal or maybe the Scarpa version of that (Mont Blanc?). She is size 37.5 i think, or that abouts. If you have any leads on a used pair that would be great! Thanks. Email me at chrisimrell@gmail.com

  4. I used the Rab Latoks for about 35 days of ice climbing and a bit of alpine this winter. The palm texture on the thumb has worn off but that's likely because I'm too lazy to switch gloves when I belay. They were plenty warm enough, dry, they have great wrist cuffs and are very dexterous.

  5. Looking to head to banks from seattle sometime during Sunday Monday Tuesday this week. Been warmish getting cooler, any up to the day condition comments? Been in hyalite and Cody for a couple weeks and back in Seattle for a few weeks and banks seems the best bet for local (sorta...) ice. I'd appriciate any input. Never been. Thanks a bunch!

  6. use a bit of tape. more than anything it reminds you to be gentle. most importantly remember that the gym can easily wreck your body. Don't over train. Consider spending an entire gym session just traversing on big friendly holds to work up endurance and fitness. good luck! stay healthy

  7. I've been dealing lately with a burning numbness in my hand (usually the back of the hand, but not always?) and forearm that seems like a ache radiating from the inside side (medial?) of my elbow. on days it flairs up it wakes me up in the morning.

It always hurts in the morning as I'm waking up, and rarely do i get numbness at other times, although sometimes when typing or writing. The elbow is a very very dull slight ache the rest of the day. maybe I'm sleeping on it weird? I'm 80% sure that i developed this problem from excessive use of a ratchet wrench at work (the problem is in my right arm which i use). I've stopped using a wrench and this has helped but it seems to be a nagging issue... I don't tend to notice any pain or numbness while climbing, especially if i warm up well. I'm wary of developing a chronic issue, and the numbness aspect worries me. Nerves?

Sorry to hear about your pain.

    Here's to healing.

  8. These are sweet tools, I've swung some and they feel real great. a classic tool for sure, plus with the pinky rest they'd be fully set up for whatever alpine plans you had. Fuck I'm pretty sure these are the tools Steve House used for pretty much everything until quite recently. shoooooo
