    Mt Hood

Saw a party of 8 that skinned up through Eliot glacier yesterday plus saw tracks up on the snow bowl from an earlier party. Watch out for the butt glissade tracks.
  2. If you head to Slick Route, it might be worthwhile to check out Memorial (to the right of the Regular Route). There are a few bits of 5.8, it's ~8 pitches, all sport. The South Fork of the Clearwater (outside of Grangeville) also has some climbing on Lightning Dome, but I believe it is harder than what you are looking for. If you want to go "cragging" it might be worth your while to check out the Pins & Needles outside of Donnelly, Id. Have fun!
  3. Awesome photos. I am planning for my first Bugaboos trip and these photos certainly inspired!
  4. Nice job. That is a pretty cool website.
  5. I guess I should have used a different word than "cause". I thought that there might be some folks out there that had some extra change that could donate to a goal that seems pretty cool.
  6. If folks are interested.... It sounds like they are having a hard time meeting their goal without some financial help. Seems like a neat cause to me.

Any current reports on conditions for Hood?

    Mt Hood

Hey folks, Just wondering if it is too late to do the Cooper Spur? Never climbed Hood and the most "technical" mountain I have done is the north face of Mt. Borah in Idaho. Not sure what to expect of Hood. Don't have much experience with so much snow...and crevasses...any thoughts? Should I instead do a solo ascent of the South Spur?
  9. I am with you Jay. I am 5'9ish and roughly 153 lbs. I would like to shift some of my weight around and shoot for more muscle and less fat. I don't really care what the numbers are as long as I can climb more and retain a higher fitness level.
  10. I almost always carry p-cord. Seems to be handy. If you need to get replacement parts for your binding I would try Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder. I recently dealt with them with a replacement part for my Silvretta 500's (broken piece that covers the DIN screw on the heel). Cheers!
