They are not just along the roads and at campsites, but along random trails as well. Many times, the forest and park services use these types of cameras for capturing images of wildlife in an area. Nothing seals the deal for preserving an area of forest like an image of a threatened or endangered species. The cameras that I have seen, although camouflaged, are easy to spot. I'm sure the camera at the Exit 38 crag has plenty of shots of climbers posing for glamour shots. I for one have said cheez to it a few times!

Looking for a parnter(s) climb easy to moderate trad at Index this weekend (2/20 - 2/21). I'm heading up from Olympia and may be able to pick up along the way. I've been thinking of maybe car camping Saturday night, but that depends on finding a partner for both days...PM if interested.

Looking Glass Rock in NC has some great route names for adjacent lines - Tits and Beer, First Cumming, Second Cumming, followed by Bloody Ass...Oh the subtle southern sence of humor...
