  2. i almost died running through point defiance park in tacoma during a windstorm. heard a loud ass CRACK, looked up and saw a massive doug fir fragment comin' straight for my dome piece

  4. alex, this is nitpicky but on wastateice.net the new season is listed as 2008!
  5. just curious how many of you have stepped on your rope with crampons and continued to use the rope in situations where high impact falls are possible, as opposed to relegating it to glacier only use. i crunched my rope pretty hard the other day at the coleman seracs and tho it doesn't show any visible deformation, i'm a bit sketched...but i can't imagine that dirt bag climbers throw away an expensive rope just cause they punctured it.

  13. whenever. don't start classes til the 23rd. the forecast for washington pass looks iffy for the weekend but hopefully that'll change!
  14. yo, looking for a partner to climb sometime early next week if the weather forecast improves. interested in forbidden by any route, wa pass moderates and possibly the northeast ridge of triumph. or maybe the ne face of eldorado and dorado needle? im down for almost anything alpine. i have a rack, a car, and a rope.

    in april be prepared for a much more strenuous trip as you'll probably be snowshoeing or skiing up a good portion of the mountain

  17. i've heard mixed reviews regarding the quality of climbing at mt erie...bad rock,hard to protect, etc. anyone disagree wholeheartedly with the reputation? im moving out to bellingham this weekend and would prefer to drive to erie over index because its a lot closer. anyone have any favorite trad lines at the crag in the 5.6-9 range?
