  1. Read just a couple of reviews, but, it seems to fit to at least 6' and maybe a little more. .
  2. Sweet stuff there, PG! Great shots, and great for you getting after it.

    Very powerful.

I could never vote for a candidate who promises to abolish environmental, pharmaceutical and market regulations. It's really too bad he has to ruin his pro civil-liberty platform (which I support) with such outrageous and radical anti-regulation libertarian ideology. It makes him completely unacceptable to moderate voters like myself. I think you forgot to mention his stance on abortion. .
  4. You're right in your assessment, ie, she does seem like the perfect Repug. . But, I'd say what worked against her, (similar to Palin) is her lack of brain power, along with the fact that she is just plain whacky, and too far out there for most of the populace, save for that small fringe group. . .
  5. Actually, you are very much correct, G. Talk about a bunch of gun-totin' homosexuals here and that's one reason I'm leaving Alaska. I'll visit, but I need a real live honest-to-goodness man. Things sure have changed in this state. Hmmm. . . I don't know. That sounds about how it was when I was in Ak, back in the 80's and early 90's. There are a lot of good folks there, but, I'd imagine for a woman, might take some time and a bit of sorting to find a good one. . .
  6. I don't know too much about ol' Santorum. . except that he's pretty conservative(aren't they all?). Bigot? Here's some background info: Rick Santorum :D

  8. True... but that fact's not stopping Ron Paul either... True, true, but, guess he had a "slightly" bigger chance than ol' Bachmann. . Kevbone's still gonna vote for him!
  9. I know! Right? I still couldn't resist posting the vid. I thought the same thing, d. They have nice booties and all, but not huge, nothing close to J Lo even. Ha! Yeah, I mean to my eyes, they look appealing, and not "big and round" like the singer supposedly wants. .
  10. You haven't even met me. Well, my black girl friends say to ME, "DAMN GIRL, you got one big booty!" OMG!! Quite, the, uh, video. . But, those butts don't look very big, and certainly not what the singer claims to be after. . .
  11. As if she ever had any real chance. . .
  12. Horrible. I guess the gunman's in the woods still, with an assualt rifle. Sonofabitch. Tragic. . She leaves behind a husband and two kids. . Another link here: http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/01/9875731-ranger-fatally-shot-at-mount-rainier-national-park
  13. Pullout is to the west, west of the Ranger station and Beacon Rock, right near Little Rd. It had no signs when I parked there. If you take a right on Little Rd, there is a "pullout" that is off Hwy 14 and out of site of the Rangers. I've left a car overnight there and never got a ticket. No Discovery Pass signage whatsoever. Yeah, thanks Dave. Thought of that afterwards. . Coulda, Shoula, Woulda. .There was no signage where I parked, either. Next time.

Btw, sent my paperwork, ticket, my written explanation as to why I was contesting it, etc. into the Court yesterday. Now, wait and see. And, agreed, attitude is everything. Should I make it into court, mine will be humble yet honest. i see said the blind man to the boy as he handed him the axe and saw good luck. yeah, shit, don't people live up that road? Yep.

  16. He blatantly ignored a Ranger who stopped him and told him he needed a pass, and came back to find a ticket, and he is going to fight it? Thats a good one. You might want to think that one thru. I wouldn't be surprised if the judge actually tacks on an extra fine for disregard and failure to obey a Law enforcement officer, and based on the above statement, sounds like they can nail you for vandalism as well. Yeah, I am going to fight it, for I believe that I was in the right, parking outside of the Recreation area at the time, and that she had no legal right to ticket me. And, yeah, I'll fess up to my serious act of vandalism/monkey-wrenching as well. .
  17. Thanks one and all for your insights and thoughts on this matter. If there is now a sign at the pullout I parked in, west of B. rock, right before Little Road, then that sign is a new one; it wasn't there when I parked. I will fight it; I took pics of the signs saying one must have a Discovery Pass to park within the Recreational area. I was outside of the boundaries at the time, at least I think so. . Depending on how one interprets those maps. . Quote: A discover pass is required for any 7 motor vehicle to park or operate on any recreation site or lands What if your friend is driving out to Hood River or somewhere, drops you off at the gate to Hamilton Mt. or, drops you so you can climb with some friends, then picks you up in a couple of hours. Does one still need to buy a pass and carry it on your person? ? Ps. Little side note, but definitely part of the whole, " what does our pass pay for discussion," Ms. Ranger gave me a little lecture, asking me if I knew that said pass pays for "restroom upkeep, trail maintenance, etc?" After walking up passed the locked road gate leading up to Hamilton Mt- she said they would reopen the gate "in March or so," I came upon the restroom up there, and it was locked. No portapotty either. And, on the restroom door, was a nice little written explanation of how great the Discovery Pass is, and what it pays for. . I ripped it off the door and threw it in their trashcan.
  18. Thanks Ivan. Yep, that's what I would think. . Guess I'll be going to court. .
  19. Hi all, and a Merry Christmas to everyone! Rather than resurrect the Discovery Pass thread from this summer, and its 7pgs, I thought I'd begin anew with my problem: I recently, (though it's now been at least a month), received a ticket for not having a Discovery pass and accessing the State park. In this case, Hamilton Mountain, located right next to Beacon Rock State park in S. Wa. So, the story is rather than pay, I elected to park a quarter mi. down the road, on a wide pull-out, shoulder of Highway 14, and hoof it back to the park. Gate was shut leading up to Hamilton Mt, so one would have to park at Beacon rock anyway and then hoof it up the road to Hamilton. Anyway, as I'm approaching the "park," on the opposite side of the road from the Ranger station, said Ranger, a Ms. was out on the lawn talking with someone, and she shouted out to me across the highway, "I need to talk to you." I should've kept walking, but, I obliged and walked over. She asked me if I was planning on entering the park, and I said yes. She then informed me about needing a pass, etc. even though I parked down the road. I asked her what the sign said, ie, does it in fact say one needs a pass to enter the park, or is it in fact a parking pass? She didn't know. I told her that I was within my bounds to park on the highway, and she didn't have a right to ticket me, and that if she did, I'd see her in court. I left and proceeded on my hike. Ticket was on my windshield when I returned. So, that's the story. Ticket was for $99.00. Recently received a courtesy reminder/ticket from Skamania Co. saying that if I bought a pass, they would reduce the ticket to $59, if i produce a pass within 15 days of the ticket, and of course, the 15 days has passed. My choices are: A)Ignore it all, and maybe have a surprise later. B)Buy a pass, then pay the $59, if it's not too late, etc. C)Fight it. Mail in the ticket requesting either Mitigation, or a Contested Hearing(this on the back of the ticket). Contested bit says "I want to challenge this infraction. I did not commit this infraction, etc. I don't mind doing this at all, and should based on my earlier speech to the ranger; only problem is possibly missing work, driving up to Skamania somewhere, etc. Looks like it's gonna cost me either way. . and I'm fairly poor. . . Still, at this point. . . What would you do? Do I have a legal leg to stand on? I did take photos of the signs, along with where I parked down the road, etc. . . Great stuff for me at Christmas. Thanks in advance for your input!
  20. Bumpity bump again. .
  21. Good job yet again, Mr. Holk. Nice pics. I, too, have been gazing at Hood, wishing. .
  22. No interest??
  23. What's your email address? Sent you a pm.
  24. Bump!
  25. FS: Dana Design Terraplane, yes, made in Montana, sz. Med. ] Decent shape, though currently a little dirty. I plan on cleaning it. Carried on a few trips up in Alaska. Strong and supportive. Only real problem is that some of the stuffing has come out of the back support panel. From what I've heard, Marmot will honor these packs with a lifetime warranty, and so it can probably be restuffed with more current materials. Was thinking of $150. Will try and post some pics when I figure out how. . Thanks!
