going to Cochise on April 1-7th from Seattle. Flying. Looking to add folks to the trip soon to make the trip cheaper. We're spending about 300 or so with flight + rental car, so if you can get a cheap flight the cost comes down for the rental car. If you want to go email eatsleepclimb@yahoo.com Matt

Hey Folks, looking to expand my circle of folks whom I could potentially go out with. I work out of town quite a bit, but can usually make it back to seattle for some climbing. I live in Green Lake, have been climbing for 15 years (can get 11's at Index right now), and am looking to hook up with climbers of similar experience/skill level to motivate and climb harder routes. Alpine rock routes with a minimum of snow stuff is my style right now as well as Index/Exit 38 after work. Feel free to call/e-mail me i don't check CC super often. hey, this coming weekend may 16th I'll be hoping to hook up with someone and bake out in the sun at Vantage, before the grateful dead show on Saturday. Anyone interested? Matt 2064370016

getting into the hut is going to be tough, since the entire road is covered in deadfall and will not be cleaned up for a few years now. Looking instead at doing some longer climbs in the bugaboos, perhaps the sawtooths.

Looking to take a trip to the Selkirks (based out of the Fairy Meadows Hut) to climb in the Adamant Range. The climbing will focus on hard alpine granite, with some fairly significant glacier travel to the base. 5 hour walk to the hut, a bit more walking to the base. BTW the hut has a hot tub as well!!! Possibly looking to get an FA in, currently gathering as much info as possible seeking competent partners. PM me. As for me, I've been climbing for ~15 years, done many big walls, taken 3 wilderness first aid classes over the last 8 years, and just onsighted 11c at smith last weekend. My single biggest drawback would have to be a lack of serious glacier travel, though i do have some experience.
-
I've never pulled a hold off at vantage.

Partner wanted for a route Super Stickle in the Adamant Group (Selkirks). The route is 5 hours to a hut, some glacier travel from there to the glacier camp for the approach. The climb description is a little vague on details but says 8 hours to do the ascent, the crux is .11b. Anyone up for an alpine adventure?? I've been climbing for 15 years and have done peaks of the same size/commitment in the Sierras, Bugaboos, etc. PM me if you wanna go.
-
Can anyone tell me where I can get the super gnarly sunblock that you would use on your face for summer alpine trips? I'm talking major glacier travel super worthy thick sun ray destroying recipe.

they aren't making the bomber tele gear bishops this year and i'm trying to find a pair to mount on my new skiis. Everyone is sold out of these kick ass bindings. Anyone have a pair they don't want anymore??

Hey Folks, i'm headed for the holidays for about 15 days to Cuba to do some sweet sweet climbing on overhanging limestone in 75 degree weather (www.cubaclimbing.com). ANYONE is welcome to join the trip as I am going solo but i doubt that that will happen on such short notice. I am soliciting gear donations for the young folks of cuba that have very little in the way of resources for acquiring gear for themselves even if it was available. Below is the standard gear reply e-mail that i've been given from Armando who is running down all the time to climb there, publishing the new forthcoming guide and the author of a recent article on the area in the canadian magazine gripped. It's great to take gear. Always need more basics, eg, shoes, harnesses, ropes, chaulk, pads, packs, and Cubans, like the rest of us, really love the accessories of climbing: PrAna shorts, Metolius/BD Ts, climbing magazines, posters. Biggest need is bolts and cams; both needed to put up routes. Must be stainless steel or titanium. At least 3" x 3/8". Anyone who donates will be treated to a rum and cigar party/slidshow at my place in Wallingford to see the folks whom the gear went to. Contact me soon since i'm leaving on Monday to fly out, but will be gone to BC on Saturday to spend the weekend in Squamish. Matt 2064370016 matthew.schutz@dnv.com

Trip: Southern Yosemite - Get into the groove Date: 12/8/2008 Trip Report: This morning i got back from another rad weekend out in Southern Yosemite...i keep getting sent out to cali for work... the route is named 'get into the groove' since it's the only route on Nightwatch that follows a water chute for the entire route. Such fun stemming in that thing above the bolts!!! Put the route up rope solo again. The 5.12 section i climbed around and then got it on toprope after, so I'd love to go back and try and lead that part. The top is just a 5.2-5.6 simul climb for like 300' and really fun/easy with bolts where you need them. No top anchor, just trees/boulders. Another good route added to an already stellar area http://picasaweb.google.com/randomuniquename/GetIntoTheGroove#

Trip: Southern Yosemite - PFA - 18 cans of Oly Date: 11/14/2008 Trip Report: Hey everybody, i've decided to post a picasa album (since i still haven't figured out how to include photos in my TR's) of a possible first ascent i was able to rope solo a few weeks ago in Southern Yosemite. The only evidence i found of a previous ascent was a two bolt anchor on the ledge traversing near the top of the formation, with no evidence of where the previous ascent went and a million possibilities. I only drilled bolts to protect prolonged sections of run-out slab climbing (in excess of 15-20 ft) to link cracks together. The route name and motivation is a dedication to my bro Matt Peterson who passed away working on a wind farm in Texas. We had a few good climbing trips together in the area which always seemed to commence at the 18 pack section of the grocery store in North Bend, and I will always remember him. Peace!! http://picasaweb.google.com/randomuniquename/18CansOfOlyTributeToMattPeterson#
