  1. It is! And who says I won't be able to do it ever? By the way, I love challenges...
  2. Yup... thats my alternative. Unfrotunatly I don't have a working phone or home phone, so there's always good ol fasion door to door asking...
  3. What would the point of getting negative attention be? So that I get no one on my side and no climbing partners.... that doesn't sound good... I guess I could stop posting trip reports if it will make everyone happy. As for getting a ride... well that would be nice, could be part of the reason... but even if I could get a ride, I would be solo which don't they discourage that in scambling? Or should I try to solo stuff? Patts on the back for doing stupid things? I already know that doing stupid things will come with shouts of anger like "what the heck were you thinking?" As for maps... hehehe... I got my own map generator... http://www.hikrs.com/maps As for getting a job, now I could do chores around the nabor hood and such, but getting a job that involves taxes and such... well part of my mom's government support would be going away so then I would be working 6 days a week with little pay, and then if I lose my job, my family is screwed! As for young groups.... boy acouts.... two thumbs way down... as for the other one mentioned outward bound ... never heard of it... here's the site... http://www.outwardbound.org/index.cfm/do/are.index doesn't seem to have much in Washington unless I'm looking at the wrong places... I'm looking for backpacking, scambling or even climbing... Thanks for the advice. Cheers Josh Lewis.
  4. Dang! I missed it....
  5. I'll have to get better about painting pretty pictures then! After all, I just got done with Art II class. (When I say Painting pretty picutres, I mean get respectful fast!)
  6. Thanks for your long response. I already know the rule not to climb to impress someone, it gets me in a whole lot more trouble then I expect... well atleast with you guys. Yes, I have been learning from my mistakes. I learned the snow pad the hard way, it's not luxury. As for the water, a majority of the Mountain Loop Highway I biked without refills. At Columbia Peak I nearly ran out of water, exept a half full bottle which I had to use to melt snow, so I knew I was dehydrated. It was a frightening experience up there, literally dreaming someone was rescueing me, only to wake up shivering knowing that no one knew where I was. As for shedding layers, I was in shorts and no shirt going up, I had zip off snow pants. I did not drink from creeks although I was very tempted on the way up and down, especially on the way down due to low water supply. As for 9 pounds being too much on Rainier, I drank it all before making it to Camp Muir. I drink more water than the average person, during a school day I would say I drink about a gallon a day if not more. I also over heat more than the average person, which is why I love snow~! As fir going to Taco Bell, it was cheap, I had 5$ or so during the entire bike ride, and I had to make it last. I left a part of the story out when cramping up in the tent on Columbia Peak in the pouring down cold rain when the burritos were taking there toll if you know what I mean which made the moments even more torture. As for checking the weather, I did, they said partly cloudy and perhaps a little worse, which I knew could mean storm up there, but I was so determined that the weather would not scare me away! As for the advice about Stuart... Thanks! I'll have to keep that in mind when observing the upper part. Stuart would be crazy in bad weather which is why I plan on looking at the forcast ahead of time. As for Rainier, well now that I have good odds next year, why not shoot for that. This year I was discouraged when I was out of the osat group so I did not train a whole lot, although I did do a few things. And I would go with experienced people. As for the rack idea.... how much do they cost? I indeed had the pack on my back. I appreciate all your advice! Cheers Josh Lewis.
  7. Hmmmm or Frenchy.... you could delete it for us?
  8. I am avalible for scrambles the rest of July, and after August 21. I am 16 years old for those who do not know me. But am willing to go anywhere that is within my abilities.
  9. New tactic idea. Forget climbing for now... how about Scrambling! This idea could work!
  10. Yeah..it wasn't funny the first time either. Lol.... yes it was. (Basically saying the world is coming to an end!... right?)
  11. WHAT!? Then were did those free presents come from? And why did I wake up one Christmas with my chemeny broken? Hu.... explain that!
  12. Really? I thought his house broke through when he ate to many cookies and global warming helped contribute.
  13. That would not be very nice.
  14. Josh, don't listen to what people like this say to you. You are ready for Stuart, and good luck on your trip! I have heard, however, that it's not too fun, but that's just a matter of opinion- if you are not enjoying it, turn around. Having fun is the most important thing (well after safety, of course!) -Mark Kudos for this post! 100% agreed! Man, for a moment back there I thought you were goign to tell me not even to scramble... I liked your other priority list 1: Safty 2: Staying friends 3: Fun 4: Summit As for Stuart, I'll probably have lots of fun!
  15. I don't expect to do those without lots of climbing experience.
  16. It was a joke... I haven't climbed much any ways... .... yet.
  17. What?! Aww well your loss, the EastKing is cool!
  18. Ohhhh Ok. When I said bad, I meant tough, rugged, ect. Conquering a mountain heh! That's a nearly impossible goal. But I'm not thinkin I have much of a disrespect for the mountains. I honor them more than, well be they guy like "Oh yeah I conquered the mountain". But Stuart is a tough one I hear.
  19. My friend Mark would be interested. Here's a thread on it: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/895670/5_summits_of_the_Liberty_Bell_#Post895670
  20. Wierd things.... like what?! Now you gotta remember, I'm one of the craziest guys I know. Nowatleast I accept that I'm crazy, and I'll probably always be crazy! Gahahahhahahahhahaha! Perhaps yout jealous that you didn't get to have several crazy adventures.... man I love being me! Although sometimes it's well fun. The crazier it gets, the funner it gets! If I slow it down... now how would I do Denali in a few years. I guess I could always settle for Aconcagua, and then in my mid 20's go for Denali... but that's way too long, a life time away! As for Rainier, I suppose I'll wait for next year.... uggggg
  21. Well, I am a guy who doesn't seek pretty girls, but ones that have similar passions of me. That's what makes it hard. But it may work out some day. Out of my league.... if they said that, then clearly they were not the girl I was looking for.
  22. I would think in EastKing's book it would be.
  23. As a web site maker myself, I'm used to those kinds of errors... but with this one, I'm not the admin so I can't manually delete the photo from the database. I feel wierd for having duplicate photos.
  24. Well... not exactly... I was reffering to steep rock.
  25. Oh.... people often reffer to it as if it were a bad thing... and I suppose that I assumed it meant feeling shame or bad. Ok, then never mind the last post.
